PRINOTH Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Tracked machines offer numerous advantages for completing off-road construction tasks efficiently. The Prinoth Panther lineup stands out for its versatility and performance, proving most beneficial under conditions like:
- Soft, muddy, or sandy terrain where wheeled vehicles may get stuck. • Steep slopes or uneven ground requiring extra stability.
- Narrow, remote or hard-to-access areas with limited or no roads.
- Environmentally sensitive sites where minimal ground disturbance is important.
- Adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain or snow that reduce traction for wheeled machines.
From construction to the right-of-way maintenance, in the middle of the nowhere or within city limits, the Prinoth Panther is a smart choice.
The Prinoth Panther crawler carrier lineup features a wide range of payload capacity, from 12,600 lb (5.7 tons) to 33,500 lb (15.2 tons). Available in both straight-frame and rotating dumper configurations, it provides load volumes from 4.3 yd³ (3.2 m³) to 11.5 yd³ (8.8 m³). This versatility makes it an excellent tool for various construction applications, including light material transport and medium-duty earthmoving projects.
Prinoth Panther crawler carriers deliver excellent stability and performance on slopes thanks to their tracked design. Their low center of gravity and wide track footprint provide superior grip and balance, allowing them to tackle steep inclines safely while minimizing the risk of tipping.
Straight-dump models can handle inclines up to about 31% (17°) uphill/downhill and 21.8% (12°) on side slopes when loaded. Rotating-dump models manage up to 27% (15°) both uphill/downhill and on side slopes when loaded.
Prinoth Panther crawler carriers are extremely easy to operate, requiring minimal training, even for unskilled workers. With a simple steering wheel and a single pedal, driving a Panther is easier than operating a car. Most new operators can be trained in just minutes, helping construction companies reduce training time, lower onboarding costs, and address labor shortages effectively. Additionally, all cabs come with standard ROPS certification (Roll-Over Protective Structure), with FOPS certification (Falling Object Protective Structure) available optionally, prioritizing safety.
Prinoth Panther crawler carriers are specifically designed to minimize their impact on the ground. The tracks distribute weight evenly, which helps reduce soil compaction and surface damage compared to wheeled vehicles, making them ideal for use in sensitive areas.
Thanks to their tracked design, these carriers maintain low ground pressure (LGP), which ranges from approximately 4.60 psi (31.7 kPa) to 7.04 psi (48.5 kPa) when fully loaded.
No special action is required from the operator or technician. All Prinoth Panther vehicles feature an automatic track tensioning system that simplifies track care, with each tensioner working independently to keep tracks properly adjusted and prevent them from coming off.
The unique suspension system, combined with rugged large steel wheels, allows the vehicle to adapt easily to uneven soil, ruts, and ditches. Its self-cleaning undercarriage and tracks are designed for all soil types and weather conditions, helping prevent debris buildup, extend component life, and reduce maintenance costs.
